Thursday the FDA approved an injection (Vivitrol) to treat alcoholism. The drug is administered once a day and is intended to curb cravings for drinking by blocking the euphoria associated with intoxication.
The only risk with the drug is…….liver damage!
The drug will be available in the US by June.
