Liberals say the darnest things…

Bill Moyers is retiring from journalism and his last story is the story of a lifetime–or so he says. You see Bill Moyer’s thinks the MSM has become the media wing of the Republican Party(sound familiar). Are these sour grapes that Bill is expressing or is Bill having a mental breakdown?

Well, I’m not sure where Bill has been for the last twenty years–or what flavor Kool Aid he has been drinking–but if Bill isn’t aware that the MSM has slanted their news reporting in favor of the Democratic Party for the last generation, I think Bill may need a psychiatric evaluation instead of retirement.

From the horses mouth–or should I say the ass’ mouth:

“I’m going out telling the story that I think is the biggest story of our time: how the right-wing media has become a partisan propaganda arm of the Republican National Committee,” says Moyers. “We have an ideological press that’s interested in the election of Republicans, and a mainstream press that’s interested in the bottom line. Therefore, we don’t have a vigilant, independent press whose interest is the American people.”

Has Bill been watching the same ABCNBCCNNCBS newscast that all Americans have been watching with noses pinched?

Then Moyers the Apologist rears its ugly head:

“You don’t get rewarded in commercial broadcasting for trying to tell the truth about the institutions of power in this country,” he goes on. “I think my peers in commercial television are talented and devoted journalists, but they’ve chosen to work in a corporate mainstream that trims their talent to fit the corporate nature of American life. And you do not get rewarded for telling the hard truths about America in a profit-seeking environment.”

Finally Bill’s last thought on the Media’s lack of independence:

“We have got to nurture the spirit of independent journalism in this country,” he warns in reply, “or we’ll not save capitalism from its own excesses, and we’ll not save democracy from its own inertia.”

Now what kind of horse hockey are you trying to feed us, Bill? The Main Stream Media is the media wing of the Democratic Party and your reign is over. You are not in charge any more. Get over it!

The saddest part about renouncing my liberal past has been the lost of heros. I once admired Moyers for his apparent integrity and independence. It’s disappointing to find out that my hero is a deluded pessimist, blinded by his liberal philosophy.

Oh well…Liberals say the darnest things …when they are the minority party for the next generation.
